Taking a Break

This week, I started working on a new project.
I am piecing nine, 12″ blocks to make a top for a floor pillow.
This is my first attempt at a pillow this size, 30″ X 30″.
I have finished the appliques on the pillow blocks.
Now, I am studying how to make piping, and how to add a zipper.
I might try it out on a smaller pillow for practice.
For now, I have set it aside.

In the meantime, I decided to take a break and do some basic cross stitching.
A couple of years ago, I had bought some dish towels.
Mom and I were going to work on these together.
We never got to it, so I thought today would be a good time to start.
I drew some basic patterns on the printed coffee cups.
Nothing fancy.
Just something to do while I watch my favorite movies.

I still need to draw some designs on these remaining four cups.

Craft Day

What a great way to spend a Monday!
My granddaughter, daughter-in-law and I had a very successful craft day.
We started by exploring the contents of her new sewing basket.

There is nothing more fascinating than a retractable sewing, measuring tape!
Then we reviewed the contents of her new book.

She and her mom picked out projects they would like to do at a later date.
I started two different projects for them and explained the process.

My granddaughter did a great job on her first cross stitching.
She was very proud of herself.

Cross Stitch

As mentioned in previous posts, the people who work at Las Colchas are very friendly and helpful.
One of the ladies there has been particularly helpful and I learn a lot from her.
She told me about a cross stitch that she inherited from her mother-in-law that is 95% finished.
She would like to complete the cross stitch, but the chart cannot be found.
She has made inquiries, but as yet, has not been able to find a chart.
I am posting the photo of the cross stitch, in hopes that someone recognizes the cross stitch pattern and/or can help to locate the source for the pattern.
