I inherited my mom’s vitrina, display cabinet, along with some of her figurines that she collected.
Mom filled the showcase with things from her childhood, our childhood, and all of her favorite birds, elephants, and other figurines. The cabinet has been empty for two years now, and I decided it was time to fill up the cabinet.
It felt so good to pull out these precious collectibles from the storage box of mom’s things.
This porcelain girl with her dog belonged to my grandmother.
I remember seeing it on display at my grandmother’s house.
I don’t know the exact age of this doll, but I know it must be over 100 years old.
Mom was a fan of Johnny Weissmuller’s Tarzan movies and she had this Tarzan figurine when she was a child. I used to love to play with this as I watched the Tarzan movies.
This quilting grandmother and grandson is one of my favorite pieces.
Although, I think the grandmother should be a bit younger looking!
It was a special morning, setting up these memories.
I also added my collectibles to the cabinet.
