Texas Hill Country

Yesterday was a beautiful day to be out in the Texas Hill Country. Absolutely gorgeous landscape. I tried to capture it in this small quilt collage. I was delighted to find small scraps of floral fabric that I had bought in a bag of scraps from a thrift shop in Georgetown, Texas last year. Not only do I hoard scraps that remain from my projects, I also buy other people’s scraps. 😀

  1. This is such a spare, elegant composition, I think, and yet very evocative. It looks warm and happy in this world you have created. Seeing your last few tiny landscapes, it reminds me of a book I read a long time ago when I did fabric collage and which set me on a path of making small landscapes ( I would usually take photos and try to figure out how to do a picture in fabric) Here is the book: https://www.amazon.com/Fabric-Postcards-Landmarks-Landscapes-Monuments/dp/0891458336

or in regular words – Fabric Postcards by Judi Warren.

I found it very inspirational and thought I’d mention it. Anyway, I love what you are doing and look forward to more.

      1. Oh, that’s great! I will be interested to hear what you think about it. It gave me a whole new way to look at using fabric as art. I hope you like it.
