In a previous journal entry, I posted a thread-sketched and painted block of the pets that are part of my youngest son’s home. Today’s post is about two other sweet pets that are in the family. The two dogs in this entry belong to another one of my sons. I spent two weeks taking care of them as I spent time with my granddaughter, and house sat for my son and daughter-in-law.
Cimbri and Vandal are beautiful Rottweilers that are now about 12 years old. I love to see my granddaughter interact with her precious dogs. She has been in charge of them since she was in diapers. They follow and protect her; and live for her doting attention. At night, Cimbri would settle right in front of my granddaughter’s bedroom door. Vandal was sentry in front of the room where I stayed. I loved it when I would be watching television, and Vandal would just plop his massive head on my lap. He would stay there until I rubbed behind his ears. Cimbri is playful and silly, yet she is the one who routinely gets up at night to patrol the house. Vandal is more serious and quiet. Both dogs are beautiful and delightful.
