Joining the #iwishyouamerryquiltalong was a good decision on my part.
This second block has prompted me to learn how to paper piece.
I am truly directionally challenged.
Backward, forward, turn, crease, fold…yikes!
I learn with visuals, and I studied many tutorials.
April Adams sent me some links that helped me.
Abbie, from Sparkle On, also sent me some helpful links and words of encouragement.
The piecing seemed simple enough, but it took me making two or three of the blocks before I got the hang of it.
Now, I am trying to decide what fabric to use for the other blocks.
Gold and White Snowflakes or Christmas Plaid
Any input is welcomed .
This will have to wait until Friday.
Tomorrow is a traveling day.
The Crafty Gemini had a great tutorial on paper piecing I recently used, see my blog post https://tierneycreates.com/2017/05/13/experimenting-with-foundation-paper-piecing/
I love your trees and I think you should use any wild fabric you want – make it really scrappy!
I usually check the Crafty Gemini, but I didn’t this time. Thanks for reminding me. This is a great site. And I think I will go scrappy! Thanks.
I am so glad it worked out Chela! Your trees look great. Oh I do love red and green plaid! It is so Christmas and you just don’t see that fabric enough anymore.
So far, I’m leaning towards the Plaid. Thanks for your input.
Count me in the plaid column! Trees look perfect!
I’m very much a tartan girl, love that plaid. These trees are gorgeous
Thank you. I plan to finish it today. I appreciate your input.
Those trees are pretty darn cute
