When I saw this fabric panel at Hancock Fabric, I knew exactly the person who would receive this quilt.
In my discussion with Vicky, at Las Colchas, I relayed that I wanted this to be a super hero quilt for my adult son. I wanted to make it look sophisticated and not juvenile.
Vicky guided me towards fabric that was rich in color and gave an image of texture. I also found a great web fabric on eQuilters, a fabulous site for fabric and things.
I hand quilted the entire center panel in order to give dimension to Spider-man and the web.
Irene, the long arm quilter, was so excited when she saw the finished top.
We discussed various ways to quilt in order to enhance the image of webbing.
Acquired/Improved Skills: measuring and sewing borders, hand quilting, choosing fabric to enhance design, improving quarter inch seams, improved rotary cutting, designing the backing out of remaining fabric
